The Partnership's core mission to reduce the burden of cancer in Rhode Island is put into effect through our annual skin cancer screenings. These screenings, or Skin Checks, are held throughout the state during the summer season, which is a time when people are more often exposed to the sun and its harmful rays.

Below is a list of the dates and locations for the 2024 Skin Checks. We are partnering with NBC 10 WJAR, Brown Dermatology, Lifespan Community Health Institute, Rhode Island Department of Health, Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and the ServPro to provide this complimentary service at beaches across the state. No prior registration is required for our events.

If you are interested in volunteering at a Skin Check event, please reach out to Sarah Gingrich at sgingrich@prcri.org.

State Sunscreen Dispenser Campaign

We partnered with Raw Elements USA, the State of Rhode Island, and South County Dermatology this past summer to launch complimentary certified natural, environmentally-safe sunscreen dispensers at all state beaches and parks across the state. These dispensers provide sunscreen to protect residents, tourists, and employees from harmful UV rays. Learn more about the program by watching the video below!
