The Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island held its 2025 Rhode Island Cancer Summit on October 15, 2025. This year’s theme, “Reducing Risk and Improving Cancer Outcomes through Integrative Care,” focused on the many ways integrative approaches can enhance prevention, treatment, and quality of life.

Dr. Jerome Larkin, Director at the Rhode Island Department of Health, provided welcoming remarks. Dr. Victoria Fruh presented the latest updates on cancer statistics in Rhode Island, sharing key findings from the Rhode Island Cancer Report. Our keynote presentation on integrative care was delivered by Daniel Glidden from Dana-Farber’s Zakim Center for Integrative Care.

The Summit also featured a nutrition session with speakers Tyler Carden, Donna Castricone, and Dr. Kristina Ward, as well as an exercise panel moderated by Sarah Murphy with panelists Dr. Alexandra Gunderson, Jackie Robinson, and Judy Ammidown. These sessions highlighted practical strategies for supporting cancer prevention, recovery, and survivorship through diet, movement, and lifestyle interventions.
