The Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island held its 2024 Rhode Island Cancer Summit on October 16, 2024. Dr. Olutosin Ojugbele and Dr. Victoria Fruh shared updates regarding cancer care and statistics in Rhode Island. We were also pleased to have Nikki Hayes provide welcoming remarks from the Center for Disease Control.  Our keynote presenter, Dr. Sheldon Holder, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Brown University, Attending Physician in the Division of Hematology/ Oncology at the Lifespan Cancer Institute shared how we can use cancer research, prevention, and personalized care to shape the future of cancer care. The 2024 Summit also featured two panels, the first was a poster presentation that shared several best practices of cancer care and the second was a fireside chat discussion on how genetics can be used in cancer care and cancer prevention.
