The Partnership held its 15th Annual Cancer Summit on October 12, 2022. The summit featured an introductory presentation by Katrina Goddard, PhD, Director of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences at National Cancer Institute and a keynote address by Nadine J. McCleary, MD, MPH, Medical Oncologist, Gastrointestinal Cancer Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Kate McCarthy, EdD, CEM, Advisor, Department of Homeland Security at Federal Emergency Management Agency led a multidisciplinary panel of experts on health inequities that exist in various underserved populations in RI. Gary Savona, an HPV-positive Oropharyngeal cancer survivor and Anne Chiang, MD, PhD, Associate Professor; Chief Integration Officer and Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Smilow Cancer Network discussed the importance of clinical trials for cancer care and how to increase access for all patients.
